Love to Dance??
|
 |
AKKA is inviting numerous well-known actors, actresses, choreographers and
dancers to perform at AKKA WKC 2010. If all goes well, we would like the
professional choreographers to teach interested youth contemporary dance steps
that they could then perform alongside actors and actresses during Star Night.
Also, we hope to get professionals specializing in different styles of dancing
to come teach the youth a couple steps/moves; we hope that this will help the
youth become more open-minded and knowledgeable about the different styles of
dancing performed throughout different parts of India. |

Akshaya Paatre
|
 |
As a charitable organization, AKKA has chosen to donate all the charitable funds
raised during the 2010 WKC to “Akshaya Patra.” What is Akshaya Patra? In a
nutshell, the mission of Akshaya Patra is to eradicate hunger and promote
education by providing underpriveleged children with a healthy and balanced
meal. It costs $28 to feed one child for the entire academic year. However with
government subsidy, $28 could feed two children. Akshaya Patra currently reaches
out to 1.2 million children everyday and hopes to increase that number to 5
million by 2020. To learn more about Akshaya Patra, come to our eye-opening
event hosted by the Akshaya Patra Committee of AKKA WKC 2010! Information on how
to start a new chapter of Akshaya Patra at your high school or university will
be provided at the meeting as well! |
