AKKA WKC 2014
|
The theme of AKKA 2014 is Sadhane, Sambhrama, Sankalpa. In the opening item, we will be showcasing briefly, the rich history, literature and traditions of our state. You will see the ancestry of our script and language from the Vedic times, the wealth of water that our state has in the form of all the rivers and the wonderful folk traditions of dollu kunita, budabuduke. Depicting Sadhane we will portray our literary legends and philosophers, the wonderful Hoysala temples with the Shilabaalikes, and the patriotic Onake Obavva. In Karnataka we have always had Sambhrama in the form of all our festivals, which are centered around the seasons starting with the monsoons and continuing through Ganesha Habba, Dasara and Sankranti. Our Sankalpa to preserve our culture and promote it for the future is through our children. You will see our children singing the Kannada Akshara Maale and celebrating our culture and heritage. For the finale, we will acknowledge all the mascots of the previous AKKA conferences and will proudly introduce the mascot of the 8th AKKA conference, which is representative of the Bay Area. |
