Facility Committee Mission Statement

Facility Committee assists AKKA Convention management in

• Providing leadership and oversight for the set up of stages, venues for all sessions, the dining hall, exhibition and main hall per the requirements from and collaboration with the respective committees.
• Supports the Decoration committee, in getting a festive look to the convention center.
• Provides vendor management support for all committees.
• Plans and provides parking for the convention.
• Makes security and emergency response arrangement in accordance with the local laws and per the convention center rules and regulations.

Ramesh hails from Bangalore and is a staunch supporter of Kannada activities. Ramesh has served in various capacities for KKNC and also as its President. As the President of KKNC, he launched the "Kannada Kali" classes in January 2006 and even today it is successfully being run by volunteers. After spending a good 7+ years in Bangalore, Ramesh is now back in Bay Area and helping out in various activities of KKNC. Ramesh, his wife Rathna, and kids have all been active supporters of KKNC activities.

Prashanth Padubidri

Prashanth Padubidri is an Engineer in Big Switch Networks. He hails from the beautiful small coastal town Padubidri, near Udupi. He has been involved in various Kannada activities in the Bay area since 2000. He is a Yakshagana artist and a theater actor entertaining his bay area audience for the last 10+ years!

Jina

Jina works for Cisco Inc. He is originally from Bangalore. He did his B.E from M.C.E Hassan and MBA from San Jose State University. He has been residing in the California Bay Area since 2000 and is an active volunteer of KKNC. Jina is an expert stage lighting engineer and an avid photographer.

Sunil Kottige is a Solution Architect in one of the major US retailer. He did his post graduation from Mysore University. He hails from Holalkere , Chitradurga. He is serving the 2014 VSNA committee as an Event Coordinator.

Vikram Holla

Vikram Holla heads the engineering team in CPA2Biz, a subsidiary of American Institute of CPAs. He is an active volunteer of OSAAT , a non-profit organization that is dedicated to rebuild infrastructure for needy schools across India. Vikram graduated from National Institute of Technology, Suratkal . He grew up in Harohalli, Kanakapura before his family moved to Bangalore.

Kala Ghaty

Kala Ghaty is the Artistic Director of Kalamandir Art School in Fremont, California. Kala has an Art and Science degree from India and immense passion in teaching art to diverse group of students including students with special needs. Kala has taught various forms of Art including the Traditional Tanjore and Mysore art to several hundreds of patrons in the Bay Area. Asha Sridhara

Asha Sridhara has been an active supporter of KKNC for the last 25+ years and is a life member of KKNC. She is originally from Bangalore. She is an artist with an expertise in creating crafts. She is a jack of many arts such as crochet, origami, plastic canvas art, ribbon embroidery, iris folding, quilling, but modestly says s a master of none. Her friends and family admires her for bringing creativity in everything that she does. During our eldest daughter rashmi's wedding I had done a plastic canvas doll house, it is the master piece of my work. During my yougest daughter's dance arangetram we had done 3D origami peacocks, they were cute. For my husbands 50th birthday and our 25th anniversary I had crocheted 25 hats and 25 scarves and donated it to charity. I had a day care for about 15 years and have taught the kids different kinds of craft. I volunteer at shinn garden and elder care.

Rekha Maiya

She has been an active KKNC member for past 10 years and has been part of the creative team & float team for couple of years. She is very passionate about art and loves traveling. Lives in Sunnyvale,CA with husband Kiran Maiya and lovely kids Kriti & Rithvik.

Vijayashree Haveri

Vijayashree Haveri lives in San Jose, with her husband, Ramesh Bhimarao, and her two daughters, Meghana and Chandana. She is a eacher and a proud Kannadiga, who enjoys helping the Kannada community.
