- Janapada Nritya – 10 mins
- Yakshagana – 30 mins
- Dance Drama – 30 mins
- Dance AKKA Dance competition dances – 7 mins

- Good quality video/DVD of the proposed dance, preferably in costume. If not available, video (DVD, any Weblink or other media) demonstration of a rehearsal may be submitted. (need not be professionally recorded, a home video will suffice). A minimum of 10 min recording is required
- Artists’ profile along with a brief write up of the proposed presentation
- If available, reviews of past performances, media coverage, photographs etc are encouraged
- General considerations:

Performance of highest caliber will be considered for the Main stage and its duration will be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes
- Artists will be responsible for their own costumes and makeup
- All decisions of Dance committee are final
- Top quality accompaniment music will be given utmost preference
- Group performances, i.e., dances involving multiple artists (minimum of 6) are encouraged.
- Performances by individuals are discouraged and will not be reviewed favorably.
- To ensure high quality of presentations, minimum age of participants is set to 10 years. Children under 10 with exceptional talent will be considered. A quality video (DVD, any Weblink or other media) demonstration is required for consideration.
- All materials submitted, including the video media will not be returned.
- Who will bear expenses?
- All expenses should be borne by the artists.
- Can I perform Solo?
- No Solo performances allowed.
- Hospitality – boarding and lodging. Will be considered for artists from India.
- Playback media (CD Player etc.) will be provided.
- Plan your given time slot to include: (Example: Total 10min slot)
- Brief description of the program (40 secs)
- Stage setup (1 min)
- Removal of setup (1 min)
- Entry of artist into stage, Exit from stage and actual dance (7:20min)
- Application should reach the dance committee by June 1st.
- Decision will be communicated to the artists selected by July 15 .
We are very excited to introduce "Dance AKKA Dance" Competition for the first time in the much awaited AKKA Event.
It presents a unique and fun filled opportunity to showcase the immense talent of Kannadigas. Please take this opportunity to register teams to participate in the Dance competition and encourage the upcoming talent.
The dance groups can be sponsored by Kannada Kootas or individuals. Entry guidelines are provided in the form.
