Youth Activities

Concurrent youth activities are planned at the conference. This will be a gathering of all young people (ages 13-25) interested in learning, disseminating, and preserving Kannada culture outside of India.

8:00 pm - Meet and Greet/Ice Breakers

10:00 pm - 1:00 am -- Movie Night

Young Adults will participate in the AKKA Inauguration Function. Please see Main Website for further information.

2:00 pm - 3:30 pm: Building Bridges
"Building Bridges: An exercise in improving understanding between parents and children."
- Facilitated by Smitha Bhat

4:00 pm -5:00 pm: Workshop:
- Age groups divided into 13-17, 18-above
- College Preparation and Alternative Careers
- Youth are asked to attend main stage activities on Saturday evening, and afterwards there will be a dance with DJ for ages 13-17

10:00 pm -1:00 am, dance

11:00 am -2:00 pm : Detroit River Cruise

- Tour of Detroit/Windsor Riverfront
- Lunch and Activities will be provided for all ages

3:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Youth Forum

- combined age groups, seminars

- Preserving our Heritage, Political Awareness, Charitable Activities/Organizations

7:30 pm -1:00 am - Formal Dance (INDIAN ATTIRE REQUIRED FOR EVERYONE!!)

Boat Tour:

Boat tour is for the young people between the ages
of 13 and 25.

There will be nominal charge of $25.00 per person for the Boat Cruise on the Detroit River. Space is limited and everyone is encouraged to register early.
