He was born in Bangalore on December 30th 1950. He
worked at Ramakrishna mission Health projects in UP, West
Bengal and Karnataka. In 1980 started Integrated Tribal
development project at BR Hills and established Vivekananda
Girijana Kalyana Kendra Today the tribal people have accomplished
the status of very cultured and civilized people and they
compete with the main stream people of Karnataka. He established
KARUNA TRUST expanding his services to rural development
programs in Yelandur and T.Narasipur taluk. He has been
a member of many state and Indian National voluntary organizations
in health, rural development, literacy, and family planning.
Presently he is the Chairman Task force on Health and family
welfare Govt. of Karnataka, Director of Lokayukta (Health
Education and social welfare), Member of
National commission on population, steering committee
on health for 10th Five year plan, working group-6 on microeconomics
and health-WHO, technical advisory group grant in aid committee
Govt. of India, Task force on primary education Govt of
Karnataka, etc He
was acknowledged by many state and national and international
awards They include Rajyotsava state Award, Environment
Award, B. R .Ambedkar Centenary Award, Best child welfare
Award, Karnataka Jyothi Award, Basava Award, Human Rights
Award, Mahaveer Award,
Right Livelyhood Award (alternate Nobel Prize)

Dr.S.N.Subba Rao
"Bhaiji" as Shri SN Subbaraoji is affectionately
called, is a well-known youth leader. The British arrested
him at the young age of 13 during
quit India movement of 1942.
He has been associated Ramakrishna mission since
childhood. served in congress sevadal from1946 to 1969.
By singing devotional songs he changed the hearts of over
600 Bandits of chambal valley M.P. Many of them now lead
socially productive life after serving prison terms. He
established "national youth project" in1969 for
promoting National unity by organizing youth camps and doing
shramadan (free labour) for the benefit of Society in India
and many parts of the world including USA
He is the Director of National Youth Project of Gandhi
Peace foundation in
New Delhi He has been awarded many awards including a "Doctorate".
